Hillsdale College Dining Service offers Hillsdale College students 6 meal plans to choose from. These plans offer a great deal of flexibility for students. Two of these plans provide a fixed number of meals per week. The other four plans include “Charger Change”, a declining balance fund placed on a student’s ID card which can be used at any on campus food service facility. On campus food service facilities include A.J.’s Café 1844, Jitters, and the Knorr Family Dining Room.
All Block plans allow a student to treat a friend or family member to meals in the Knorr Family Dining Room with the exception of Sunday Brunch. In addition, any meal eaten over the plan limit will require a cash payment or the use of your Charger Change. Students wishing to purchase additional may do so in blocks of 10 for a $60 fee.
*Sunday Brunch - Students may use their block plan to treat family members &/or one (1) friend.
Charger Change (flexible spending dollars) associated with the meal plans not spent during the fall semester will carry over to the spring semester. However, Charger Change not spent by lunch Wednesday, May 9, 2012 will be forfeited. Addition Charger Change can be purchased at any food service location or at the Saga office.

Special Diets –Although we offer a wide variety of foods including vegetarian and gluten free items, we realize that some students need a special diet. If a student is in need of a special diet due to health reasons, they may request a special diet from food service. They must follow the following guidelines:
- Obtain a medical explanation of the required diet from a medical doctor (MD) including approved foods and foods to avoid.
- Submit the doctor’s information to the Dean’s office for approval.
- Schedule an appointment with food service to discuss the doctor’s information and the specifics of the special diet
Take Out Meals – There are times when due to appointments, class or work conflicts students need to request a Take Out Meal. Take Out Meal request forms are available at the food service office or the cashier’s station in the Knorr Family Dining Room. 24 HOUR advanced notice is required for all Take Out Meals. A student may want to consider purchasing a Block Meal Plan if he/she will miss meals due to scheduled class, work or athletic practice.
Student ID’s – Students must present their Student ID card for all meals in the Knorr Family Dining Room or if purchasing items from A.J.’s or Jitters with Charger Change.
